Lower Zambezi National Park

The Lower Zambezi is the most recent of Zambia's parks and what was for a long time a forgotten wilderness is now a fabulous 4,092 square kilometre National Park. On the northern bank of the mighty Zambezi River opposite the famous Mana Pools Reserve in Zimbabwe, so the whole area combines to make a massive wildlife sanctuary.

Sandwiched between the two escarpments the Zambezi meanders through the Park, some 2 kms wide in places, attracting much wildlife to its banks and islands. Although there is not the diversity of species in some other Parks, there are enormous herds of elephant and buffalo, large prides of lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, hippo, crocodile and various antelope species.

There are several small bush camps well spaced along the river and from here guests are able to take day and night open vehicle game drives, walk, boat, fish and canoe. It is also possible to canoe from camps to camp as well as some exciting multi day trails.
