Pemba Island
Pemba is Zanzibar’s smaller sister island and a relative new comer for tourists. Like Zanzibar, Pemba has wonderful beaches and diving spots, but unusually has the lush green Ngezi forest and dense vegetation in the centre of the island, also famed for the impressively large cloves that are grown and exported all over the world.

Mafia Island
Mafia Island is the best-kept secret of East Africa. Part of the Mafia Archipelago it is a protected internationally significant eco-system and in 1995, with help from WWF, was named the Mafia Island Marine Park. This beautiful and tranquil island is completely unspoilt, largely due to low, well-managed visitor numbers and the diving and snorkeling sights are fiercely monitored to ensure the fragile coral reefs and unique aquatic life remain intact.
Zanzibar
Zanzibar, The Spice Island, set off the east coast of Tanzania, has a rich and colourful history of invasion, occupation and finally independence in 1964. The many influences from Egyptians, Phoenicians, Indians, Chinese, Persians, Portuguese, Omani Arabs, Dutch and English are all reflected in the look and feel of Zanzibar today. Stone Town is the island’s oldest town and a must visit place on the island. Visitors will find a labyrinth of narrow streets leading to bustling bazaars and grand old Arab houses with intricate and impressive architecture. UNESCO has recently declared the town a World Heritage Site, and much conservation and preservation of these old dwellings has taken place.
