Mikumi National Park
Mikumi National Park borders Selous Game Reserve in the southern part of Tanzania. This is a small park with its own unique ecosystem. During the summer the rains are particularly heavy and the large flood plain attracts hundreds of migrating bird species as well as the relatively small in stature elephant population and huge tree climbing lion prides.

This park makes an excellent side trip for visitors to Selous and on route to Ruaha National Park, it’s an easy park to traverse as dirt roads are pretty well established.
