Selous Game Reserve

This is a largely undiscovered area of Tanzania even though it is 4 times the size of the Serengeti. It has a diverse landscape from hot volcanic springs, sporadic lakes, channels from the Great Rhaha and Rufiji rivers.

Walking safaris are available here as this is a game reserve and not a national park and with over 350 species of bird and 2,000 species of plants, 50,000 elephant, 110,000 buffalo, as well as lions and even wild dog this park offers a truly wild safari experience.

When to go? Green season November to June. Dry season July to October.
