Ruaha National Park

Ruaha,Tanzania’s third largest national park , is bordered by Kisigo & Rungwu Game Reserves. It attracts relatively few visitors each year although is becoming popular with the seasoned safari goer and links well with Selous Game Reserve.

The landscape of the Ruaha National Park is spectacular as it spreads along the Great Rift Valley, where the Ruaha River sweeps through the park cutting deep and dramatic gorges as it flows out of the park on it’s way to meet the Great Rufiji River.

The park is home to the largest elephant population in Tanzania, estimated to number over 8,000, as well as a large number of plains game in the park including rare roan antelope and sable as well as predators like lion, leopard and jackel, but it is also a bird lovers paradise with up to 450 recorded species.

When to go? The best months to go to see game are from July to November.
