Gombe Stream National Park

Just south of the border with Burundi, far to the west, Gombe, is the smallest of all Tanzania’s national parks and home to a smaller group of chimpanzees far less talked about then their Mahale neighbours.

Although this beautiful park with it’s mix of forest and crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika, it is pretty difficult to access, reaching it is best by light aircraft or boat.

When to go? Between June and October.
