Undoubtedly the most famous national park in Africa, with the plains of Serengeti stretching out as far as the eye can see, however it is the great migration that draws in the thousands of visitors every year. Up to 120,000 wildebeest make their 1000km round trip following an unknown path that is determined by the rains, basically where it goes, they go! This provides for exciting game viewing as the predators tag along behind.

Due to this unique interaction, the Serengeti is a year round destination with the highlight coming in August to September when the migration meets the great Mara River crossing.
Due to its popularity the park can get a little crowded, but with skilled guides and off the beaten track safaris available, it is possible to find your own little piece of the Serengeti.
