The Fish River that carved this mighty canyon, is now a mere trickle on the bottom and for most of the year is nothing more than a series of small pools. The Fish River Canyon is a popular hiking destination.
Treks into the canyon can only take place in the winter months between May and October and cover an arduous 86kms over 5 days. The hikes start from the Hobas viewing point and end at the southern tip where you will find the Ais-Ais hot springs.
