Botswana - the vast untamed wilderness

12.08.2011

Largely dominated by the Kalahari Desert, the arid land has extinct super lakes which form far-reaching pans that, in the rainy season, attract great herds of wildebeest, zebra, antelope and thousands of breeding flamingos. In stark contrast, in the south east of the country at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers, lies an area known historically as the Tuli enclave - a diverse wilderness of savannah, riverine forests, marshland, open plains and sandstone outcrops. This landlocked, sparsely populated country is teeming with wildlife and the fragile ecology is carefully protected so that visitors experience Africa at its most natural, unspoilt and beautiful.

From the tranquil scene of being punted through the Delta’s crystal waters to watching lion prey on huge herds of buffalo, this is a relaxing, stylish and exciting safari. This area is renowned for predators and large concentrations of game, particularly elephant. Experience several distinct ecosystems, captivating guides, exquisite food and a true wilderness experience.
